Landscaping by Huffman was established in 1977 by Randy S. Huffman to pursue his passion for landscaping and dream of having his own business. Over the many years, Randy and his company have completed hundreds of residential and commercial projects in the Grand Traverse area.
As in many endeavors, passion leads to perfection. Randy started at the age of 12 mowing yards, planting flowers and shoveling walks in the winter – neighborhood customers he acquired from his paper route. From a young age, his hard work and perseverance transitioned him into the innovator and professional businessman he is today.
Our Northern Michigan terrain lends itself to unique and sometimes challenging sites. Randy has designed artistic, creative ways to deal with traditional landscape challenges - from inventing molds to make his sought-after Huff-Rock© stair steps and patio stones to his creative Rockery Gardens established as a fresh, bold new idea for earth retaining.
Randy’s landscape vision is often inspired by a quote he once heard from Bobby Kennedy: “Some men see things as they are and say why. I dream of things that never were and say why not.”
